Biography Me Mélanie Morin

Mélanie Morin is a partner at Pelletier & Co Lawyers Inc., where her practice focuses mainly on labour and employment law. She also practises in the areas of civil litigation and disciplinary law. She was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2003 and is a graduate of Université du Québec à Montréal.

For many years, Ms. Morin has practised with a national law firm where she was a partner. She has developed expertise in representing employers in both the private sector (including small, medium and large-sized entities) and the public sector. She represents clients before civil and administrative courts in matters relating to grievance arbitration, labour relations, union certification, dismissal, and occupational health and safety. She also focuses on extraordinary remedies, including judicial reviews and injunctions (non-competion and in cases of strikes).

She also advises clients on administrative and disciplinary, the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, and immigration issues for business people.

Ms. Morin is a member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines (OCRHA) and is active as a labour relations advisor and a collective agreement negotiator.

She is a much sought-after speaker in the areas of labour relations, employee management and issues related to the use of social media. She also teaches the labour law course at the Quebec Bar’s School.
